Spanish course in MarbellaMarbella is a city in Andalusia located on the Mediterranean coasts, in the region of Malaga. It once was a small and quiet fishing village and has now become one of the classiest beach resorts on the Costa del Sol (Coast of the Sun) in Spain.

The city offers a touch of the old and traditional with a sense of cutting-edge modernity. It has amazing beaches and seawaters suitable for all kinds of outdoor and water sports, a vibrant nightlife, mountains, and all the natural advantages of being part of the Spanish "Coast of the Sun". There are also several beautiful parks and natural gardens, like King Fahia Gardens and Nagueles Park, the first overlooking the golden mile, and the second at the base of Sierra Blanca mountains. La Almeda, in the center of the city, is the meeting point of local people, and the opportunity to hire a personal horse-drawn carriage for a short trip around Marbella’s streets. Patagonia

If we had to describe Spain in one word, that word would have to be "diversity", just to make sure we are not leaving anything out. This country and its strategic location offers from high wet mountains to dry desserts and sandy beaches. The sun is the lead actor of this great scenario. Geographically, Spain's diversity is immense. And we haven't even started on the customs and traditions! Its various regions are all different one to each other, geographically, climatically and even in personality. It is a fascinating country to know and to know more about it. Spain is a country very rich in terms of culture and history. For that reason is easy to understand that it is the country with the second-largest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and the largest number of World Heritage Cities. Every year many world-famous traditional festivities take place all over the country inviting you to get a taste of the real Spain. With its food and its ancient customs it won't take long before you start feeling one more of the crowd.

Spanish people are known for their relaxed lifestayle, fun nightlife and their welcoming attitude towards tourists. Its food is something you'll take with you, but most of all the way they enjoy the meal moments. Their music is strong and with lots of personality: from the drama of flamenco to the melancholic spirit of the Celtic music and the bagpipes of the northwest.

Spain has been the home of some of the world's great artists such as El Greco, Velázquez, Goya, Dalí and Picasso to name a few and it has museums and galleries to match. On top of that many cities display amazing architecture: from really old monuments to futuristic architecture, going through Roman aqueducts, Islamic palaces, Gothic cathedrals and medieval castles.

The Spanish spirit is something to be felt not told. So pack you bags and come to explore this amazing country!

Featured trips

Mallorca: Known as one of the most beautiful and exotic Spanish islands with the best party atmosphere in the mediterranean. It is a paradise for those who seek to enjoy a time full of sun, beach and parties.

Iguazu Falls

Bilbao: It is the largest and most lively city in the Basque Country. It is historic city, with a legacy of old buildings and a rich culture, based around Old Town Bilbao.

The best of the country

Food & Drinks

Music & Dance

The geographic, cultural and climate diversity reflects in the local cuisine. Though sea food is the food landmark all over, you can find a delicious typical bite in each corner of the country:
from the sea food at south to the northern ham going through the stews in the center you'll love everything you try!

Classical guitars and flamenco to the south, bagpipes and celtic dances to the north, you'll have a great time anywhere. If there's something Spaniards know how to do is how to have a good time no matter which regional influence.

Plastic Arts

Cinema

Due to historical, geographical and generational diversity, Spanish art has known a great number of influences such as the Moorish heritage and the European influences including Italian, German and French. Spanish modern artists have changed the way we perceive art: Picasso, Dalí and Miró are clear examples.

Spain has been active in the cinema area since the creation of it. Many directors come to mind. The classical Luis Buñuel, the extravagant and bit dramatic Pedro Almodovar, the misterious Alejandro Amenabar and the hilariously ironic Santiago Segura. Watch a film before coming just to start tunning up!

Science & technology

Sports

It is known world-wide the amount and quality of this country's universities. Some of them very famous such as the Autonomous University of Madrid and the University of Barcelona. These have high positions in international rankings and allows them to place themselves as a center for research about different subjects.

Of course soccer is the most famous Spanish sport. The Spanish league is considered to be one of the world's best competitions. However, the Spanish stand out on several other sports such as basketball, tennis, handball, motorsports, golf and skiing just to name a few.

Spare time

Literature

In Spain is not that much what they do but who do they do it with. Spanish are very social and like to spend their free time with people. Whether playing sports with the family or Tapas hopping with friends they know that having fun is a social activity.

Miguel de Cervantes is probably Spain's most famous author and his master piece Don Quijote is considered to be the most emblematic work in the canon of Spanish literature and a founding classic of Western literature. A little bit more contemporary, Antonio Machado is a poet that can be quite easy to read.

1. How is my Spanish level determined?

You will take a placement test on your first day to establish the Spanish course level you will attend to. You may change levels depending on your learning skills.

2. What happens if there is not a course available for my level?

If there isn’t a Spanish course according to your level, a course will be opened for you specially and you will have individual lessons until other students with the same level of Spanish arrive. The price of these individual lessons will keep the same as the group ones.

3. Can I take my lessons in different destinations?

You can take your Spanish lessons in different places in various countries in Latin America. It is possible to combine destinations in any of our schools in Latin America or Spain without extra charge. You will find the same teaching method in all our Spanish schools.

4. Will I get a certificate after finishing the program?

Yes, you will get a certificate that specifies the level of Spanish achieved and the amount of hours you have taken. You will get also a progress report which includes the skills developed during your course and a recommendation letter from your teacher.

5. Will I receive university credits?

You can receive university credits for attending to our schools but you should first visit your school’s language department in order to know the specific requirements. Common requests from universities are: course syllabus, talking to other teachers who know the program, classroom hours, course levels, academic policies, receiving progress reports from your teachers while abroad and giving you a test upon your return. We will help you gather all the necessary paperwork and you may schedule an interview with your academic advisor if needed.

6. How am I going to develop my Spanish skills?

Our methods combine both theory and practice, addressing all of the linguistic and functional pragmatic aspects of the spoken language, along with key socio-cultural information essential for you to gain proficiency and in order to achieve your goals. Grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking and vocabulary are always integrated in order to approximate you to an authentic communicative environment.
You will begin with practical situations. Grammar lessons will be introduced gradually during the process. Lessons' topics and contents are related to daily life’s situations.

7. How many levels are there?

COINED offers 3 different levels following the requisites and guidelines from the Common European Framework of Reference. Each level is divided into 2 sublevels varying from lesser to greater linguistic capability: Basic (A), Intermediate (B), Advanced (C).

8. How many lessons do I need to reach a different level?

It depends on the level you already have, the one you want to reach and the kind of program you are taking. If you are a beginner, it takes approximately 40 to 60 group lessons per week to get you into the next level. But if you don’t have enough time you can reduce the time at half by achieving the same level with private lessons. For further information please contact us. We will be happy to help.

9. Is the study material included in the Spanish course?

In almost every destination the study material, according to your level, is included. In case you choose a destination that doesn't include it, we will let you know.

10. What is a typical day like?

You can take lessons from 9 AM to 1 PM or from 2 PM until 6 PM according to your schedule and your program.
Afternoon classes (2 PM to 6 PM) are usually reserved for students requesting additional hours or different programs.
Many days include school activities in the afternoon or the evening.

11. When do I have to register to the program?

You should register at least four weeks before the program starts to guarantee you a spot in our schools.  For bookins done lless than four weeks before the start date, we cannot guarantee your place in a group but you can write or call us to check for availability in such cases.

12. If I want to combine destinations, do I have to register at each separate location?
